My Students
We are a very small public school Library, serving about 380 students. We serve an 85% poverty group of students, grades K-6. Many of our students are struggling readers. I believe every child can learn, and I try to provide things that can support that idea.
I am proud to provide a caring and safe environment.
I work very hard to make library time fun and interesting! We are a Title I school, and many of our students have unstable family lives. Many of these children never go to a public library, for all kinds of reasons. Our ELL population many times may not know what a book is!
My Project
I am asking for some upright self markers that will sit on the book shelves, labeled with the alphabet. This will divide each Easy book section by author. This will enable our kids to easily find and identify each section. Our current little labels on the shelves are really hard to read. These new ones are red, 1" wide, and will have ready made BIG labels inserted for easy viewing! They are nice and durable too and will last for years!
Please help my students have fun easily finding their Library books with our new dividers!
These little supports help our students search, then check out their books. The shelf markers also support remembering their letter skills!
