Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Many of my scholars are at a critical point in their reading journey. Having books in a vending machine makes reading feel exciting, accessible, and even a little magical. It turns choosing a book into an experience — something to celebrate, not a chore.
A book isn't just a one-time treat.
It's something students can read, reread, and share. It's a gift that keeps on giving — expanding vocabularies, imaginations, and worldviews.
When a book comes out of a vending machine, it says reading is cool. It helps create a school culture where books are celebrated. That message spreads fast, especially when students see their peers walking the halls with a brand-new story in hand.
