My Students
My students are passionate learners that are looking to deepen their knowledge of algebra. Our classroom is a safe and vibrant environment. Students consistently come to hang out in the math room during their lunch periods and after school.
They make the space warm and welcoming for all that enter.
Although many students come from low income households, they are rich in knowledge and kindness.
They are caring and compassionate, and they are looking to move on to AP coursework and college level classes in the near future.
My Project
Many students in my ICT classroom have IEPs. This causes them to need redirection often because they love to fidget and walk around the room. Although this sometimes helps my students focus, it can be distracting to themselves and others at times.
I want to give my students a way to fidget that will help them focus and succeed.
Getting bouncy bands for their desks will allow them to fidget freely without moving around too much to distract from the lesson and work at hand.
Many of my students have expressed to me how hard it is for them to sit still in class, and I want to be able to provide them with opportunities to help them focus and feel successful each time they leave the classroom.
