This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are amazing and despite dealing with the after effects of Covid-19. My students are entering school for the first time in their young lives and will be working hard to bridge the gaps that COVID-19 left. Each student in my class comes from the South Bronx section of the Bronx. They face challenges in and outside of school, but they always show up to school happy and ready to learn new things every day. In the school, each student qualifies to receive free breakfast and lunch due to financial hardship.
My students are capable of so much more if they had access to all the proper tools and guidance.
I believe it is important for them to gain a love of reading at an early age to encourage them to think, explore, and dream! I want to show them that through books they can view the world from anywhere in the world!
