My Students

What are we in 2nd grade? We are flexible and organized! My students walk into my classroom every day excited for the new adventures on which I will take them. They are eager to see what each new day will bring and willing to try their very best in every activity they engage in.

My classroom is an inclusion classroom servicing Special Education students in a general education setting.

I have to use a lot of differentiation throughout my school day to be sure I am reaching and allowing each student access to the curriculum to the best of their ability. I spend hours modifying, creating, and altering assignments so that each student can be confident in his/her work and feel like they are able to meet the requirements for every assignment.

Also, in my class, I have many students that are a part of nutrition club which gives them food weekly to bring home. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. They know my classroom is their happy and safe place.

My Project

Letting students use their devices in class can personalize and improve the educational experience in many ways. We use technology in our classroom for literacy centers, reading groups, math groups and so much more. Students love using QR codes to scan and do listening centers. They also love doing research with QR codes. We love reviewing for tests and quizzes using KAHOOT! We also enjoy blogging in our free time. Using technology is a second nature.

There are many engaging ways that our class will use Dot in the classroom.

We can use it to infuse technology into morning meeting, math, reading, writing, and spelling. Students can practice asking questions, spelling words, solving math problems and enriching their learning.
