My Students
I teach mathematics and gifted in a public middle school in rural West Virginia. Our school has a strong sense of community. Many of the children have been in classes together since kindergarten. This has allowed them to build a bond in which they both support and challenge one another daily. We are currently meeting in a blended setting which at times requires us to be fully virtual. We are meeting virtually to remain connected when we are not able to meet in person. The students are always excited to learn new things. The students are an inquisitive group of 5th - 8th-grade students that collaborate on projects regularly.
My students are a lively and enthusiastic group that loves learning and challenges!
My Project
With the current restrictions because of COVID-19, students have been limited in their opportunities to participate in the classroom as they normally would - sitting close with friends, working collaboratively with friends, and many of the interactive activities that used to take place.
The students already LOVE the Escape Classroom concept - they just need the tools to make it more interactive.
These materials will be used with a current Escape Classroom subscription. The locks and lock boxes will allow the clues to be placed into the boxes and students will use the codes they have discovered from the clues to get their next clue.
