This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am fortunate enough to have a special education classroom filled with wonderful students. My students are kind, hard working and intelligent despite their disabilities. All students within my special education classroom are English Language Learners.

I would love the opportunity to have a class set of laptops.

This would allow me to make my classroom more engaging and introduce students to modern technology. My students are from a very low income community and do not have laptops at home. I would love to introduce them to this technology within the classroom. Laptops can be used in so many ways and will help my students with special needs succeed.

My Project

I am a special education teacher within a low income community. My students are wonderful, kind, hardworking students. These children have disabilities and are all English language learners. Having a class set of laptops would allow me to create an engaging classroom that meets the academic needs of my students. There are many websites and applications that can be used for all subject areas within the classroom. Many students with disabilities benefit greatly from using technology for reading, writing and math. English Language learners also benefit from using online programs that can help them improve their English in a fun way. Please help me bring modern technology to my NYC classroom! Thank you.
