I am a Special Education teacher in a Third Grade Integrated Co-Teach Class where there are special education students learning alongside general education students. Each student is unique and special in his or her own way!
Our students DESERVE a healthy, clean, and germ-free learning environment!
With the winter upon us, it is a constant struggle to keep the classroom clean and germ-free, and ensure that everyone stays healthy!
Our school consists of culturally and linguistically diverse students within a low socio-economic community. Our special education students have been diagnosed with various exceptionalities which include learning difficulties, speech impairments, ADHD, Autism, and sensory issues.
My Project
The winter brings sneezing, coughing, colds, and the flu to not only students, but to the teachers as well. Unfortunately, students miss crucial days of schools due to these illnesses.
We need tissues for runny noses, liquid hand soap and hand sanitizers to keep germs off of hands, and Clorox spray and wipes to keep desks and chairs clean!
Students are asked to bring in supplies for the classroom, however, most simply cannot afford the expense. As teachers, it is financially difficult to keep these supplies stocked as well. Being able to replenish our diminishing “stay healthy” supplies would help keep our students healthy and not miss any school days.
Please help us create a clean, healthy and germ-free environment so that the learning can continue uninterrupted!
