it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are excited about learning!
Most come from low-income families where reading and other educational materials are luxury items.
Additionally, our class contains children from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Many come from homes where English is not spoken or not spoken fluently, some are in the foster care system, and some have physical and/or speech challenges to overcome. Fortunately, at this age, all students benefit greatly from experiences and touchable, movable manipulatives, so I try to provide these opportunities as much as possible. My Project
Due to teaching school online from my dining room table much of last year, I had the unique experience of literally being able to see into my students’ homes on a daily basis. As such, I would like to create a more refreshing and calming environment for them in our classroom this year.
A clean, beautiful classroom carpet in a soothing color scheme would help our large group times feel more comfortable and would be a lovely place for children to sit and listen to stories.
It would also provide a nice, big carpeted area that could be utilized during centers and other group and partner activities as well.
