My students need tempera paint, tracing paper, newsprint, construction paper, tissue paper, and a drying rack to help them complete their art masterpieces.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I want my students to be INSPIRED LEARNERS! I remember taking art classes in school as a child and how much fun it was to learn about famous artists by studying their masterpieces and creating one of my own. I want to share this amazing experience with my students.
My students are third and fourth grade students who spend three days a week working one on one with their families and then the other two school days with me in our classroom.
They are amazing children with a thirst for knowledge. We spend most of our days learning about history, science, math and language arts through hands on and small group activities.
My Project
My students will use these art materials: oil pastels, paintbrushes, watercolor crayons and drawing pencils, to create their own masterpieces based on the styles and techniques of master artists including Cassatt, Homer, Matisse, and Rembrandt. They will learn about history through the integration of art into our classroom.
By studying famous artists and completing their own masterpieces, my students will gain self confidence and an appreciation for art while studying historical figures.
Right now my students are able to learn about famous artists through our Meet the Masters curriculum but they are unable to complete the art techniques and projects without the necessary materials. Please help my students to discover and develop a love of art!
