My students need MATH manipulatives to help them learn how to multiply, divide, and understand fractions. The magnetic tiles, CD ROM and calculators will help them learn.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ready to CONQUER the 3rd grade Math challenge. Yes! They are "Ready to Multiply, Divide, and do Fractions!" These boys and girls are enthusiastic about using what they know about manipulating numbers to reach their math goals. Every morning they don't do math, they solve problems!
My 3rd grade class is filled with Special Needs Students and General Ed Students.
They are the sweetest 32 students I have ever taught. They are hard workers and are enthusiastic about helping each other. Most of the students have been in this school since Kindergarten and have learned the standards, goals, and expectations of our school. Since this is my students' first year in a testing grade, my goal is to give them a strong foundation in all the math topics that they will be facing. Moving from second to third grade can be challenging for many of my students because of the learning challenges they face everyday. Some of my students have learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and some are English Language Learners. I have one student that has visual difficulties and is considered legally blind. Those students that don't exhibit learning delays, do come from low income homes. This is why I try to give my students a strong foundation with the materials to learn.
My Project
Currently our classroom does not include the appropriate tools to multiply, divide, or understand fractions. The math materials we are requesting are "Magnetic Fraction Tiles", "Write & Wipe Boards Fact Family", "Calculators", and "CD Rom - Math Facts to help with Multiplication and Division". These materials will be incorporated along with the required math curriculum and these tools will allow for all of the students to visually manipulate and make sense of what they are learning. I will generate small groups where students can use the hands on materials and learn. These math tools will truly enrich my students' learning development and will increase their math skills. I am positive that the tools I have chosen will prepare my students in developing the confidence they need to not just do the 3rd grade math but to "Conquer" the mathematical concepts that are new to them. Every child will be able to use the material regardless of their personal disability. Please Help Us! Thank You!!!
Your donations to my students will truly change how my students learn and understand the math topics they are facing in 3rd grade.
These math tools will also help me make multiplication, division, and fractions FUN!!! My students will not only learn how to solve problems at school but they will learn how to transfer what they learn to solve math problems in their lives. Your interest in this project will be an investment in my students academics and in their future. We truly thank you.
