This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is in a unique position in the middle of downtown Dallas. We have students from all parts of the city, and around 90% are at a socioeconomic disadvantage.

I am starting a computer science program with an AP Computer Science Principles class as well as a coding club, and one of our biggest obstacles is a lack of resources.

I have a few things I have purchased myself, but with our district's vendor rules and lack of budget for this program, we need some things to help my students along in their learning of computational thinking.

My Project

My students all have different hardware. This may be because they are using a personal laptop or because they have different school machines.

With spare chargers and adapters, everyone can participate even when life gets in the way.

For example, some students have MacBooks and can't use the USB computer mice we have. Others keep their chargers at home since the laptop usually holds a charge all day. These items will help us to get the mice connected to the Macs and to have charged laptops when things aren't so usual.
