My Students
My third grade students are diverse, creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They absolutely love learning about the world around them and their unique place within it. Our student population is comprised of students from a variety of backgrounds including Filipino, Japanese, Marshallese, Kosraen, Korean, Chinese, Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and more. Our student population is about 30% English language learners and most within the lower socio-economic background.
My Project
What better way to keep students reading than by giving them culturally diverse and socially relevant books that they are interested in! These books will continue to enhance and encourage students to learn about the different cultures all around them and encourage them to learn and understand all the people around them.
With all the unprecedented events happening around the world, creating a classroom that understands diversity and inclusion is more important now than ever.
My students will love learning about the cultures of their peers and diving deeper into their own background.
