Help me give my students all the tools they need to have a great start to the school year. My Deaf and hard-of-hearing students rely on visuals to access information. Black and white pictures are just not enough.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Wagner's classroom raised $910

My Students
My classroom includes 12 kindergarten-2nd grade students who are classified as deaf or hard of hearing. We use a combination of sign language and oral communication methods. Many of my students come from low-income families and they all receive free breakfast and lunch. Along with having a hearing loss, a majority of my students are also English language learners. Because they are in a specialized classroom, these children are often on long bus rides to and from school.
Even with long commutes and struggling families, these students are eager to learn!
They come into school excited to start the day. If I can give them six hours of a stable environment and structure and organization then I will do everything I can to make sure that can happen for them!
My Project
I teach kindergarten-2nd grade students who are so excited and eager to learn. They really triumphed this past year and a half living through a pandemic and still giving it their all in school.
I want to make sure they feel some type of normalcy when they return in September.
Last school year, our rugs had to get removed due to COVID protocols. I hope that by having this rug in the room, we can continue to do (socially distanced) class meetings to check on our learning and emotional well-being. Rugs are also a great tool to have in the classroom of Deaf students because it helps minimize the sounds in the room so they can focus on what needs to be heard. The printer would allow us to give the students materials with bright and colorful visuals that only enhance their learning. My students need these visuals to access the information that they miss due to their hearing loss.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
