My Students
My students are diverse, quirky and among the kindest human beings I have had the pleasure to know! They are so invested in every opportunity that I can offer them and I'm so excited to introduce literature into our history classroom.
One of the most exciting things about my students is how passionately and empathetically they approach their history education.
They have so many questions about the depth of history and have a desire to understand it in all of its' complexities. They also want to see themselves in history and think a lot about angles of history that reflect their own experiences and backgrounds.
My Project
Adjusting to the classroom after having been remote for a year and a half has been tricky for my students. They're craving collaboration and social interactions, but also have to keep some distance when possible in the classroom.
The items in this project are going to help us do some BIG picture group work!
By using wider markers than we have and giant sheets of paper, kids can collaborate on the same project, while giving each other a bit of space. These materials will be perfect for creating timelines, giant graphic novels and other visuals to help them process the complex reading texts they're exposed to!
