My Students
The students I have the great privilege of working with are from diverse backgrounds. Our school is located in an urban area and we receive Title I funding. Many of my students face challenges outside of school and don't always get the opportunity to experience hands-on Science Technology Engineering and Math activities. Let's change that!
Research has proven that students truly learn and retain information when the new learning means something to them.
Having the students involved in STEM activities will surely be hands-on and allow them to discover information on their own, therefor the learning becomes their own.
The students I serve are creative and see the world from a different perspective. Therefore, we use Project Based Learning lessons. The students love it and are challenged every day. They work in groups a lot of the time which enables them to solve problems, look at things from another point of view, and practice communication skills. We are guiding them to becoming lifelong learners and members of the community.
My Project
This STEM bundle kit includes all the materials to complete activities such as Create-A-Chain Reaction, Electromagnetic Exploration, Creating a Robotic Hand, and more. Each activity comes with high-interest readings and information about real life examples of how these concepts are used and careers for the concepts. And the kits can be used over and over!
I know how important it is to get students involved with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math at an early age.
It is even more important to my students as they come from under privileged backgrounds. STEM is another way for my students to not only learn but show their talents. It will also allow them to shine in a different setting.
