Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are a diverse and vibrant group, each with their own strengths, challenges, and personalities. I love their resilience, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. My students have IEPs and require tailored support and accommodations. As their teacher, I strive to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters their growth and success.
The fidgets, toys, and sensory items I'm requesting will help my students regulate their emotions, focus their attention, and engage with the curriculum.
For students with anxiety, ADHD, or sensory processing disorders, these resources will help manage stress and anxiety levels, allowing them to participate more fully in class.
Specifically, the items I'm requesting will:
-Provide a calming outlet for students who need to release excess energy or anxiety
-Offer a tactile experience for students with sensory processing disorders
-Provide a visual aid for students who benefit from visual stimulation
-Enhance hands-on learning experiences for students with fine motor skills and problem-solving needs
My goal is to create a sensory-friendly and inclusive classroom environment that supports my students' diverse needs. By providing these resources, I aim to increase student engagement, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve focus and attention.
My students are special because of their unique experiences, strengths, and challenges. They remind me that every individual learns and grows in their own way, and that it's my job to provide the support and accommodations they need to succeed.
