My students need FTC Robotics Starter Kit in order to build this year's robot to compete in competitions against other schools.

My Students
Over the past three years, I have been incredibly fortunate with the students who have passed through my classroom doors. STEM was a foreign topic to them and some approached it with apprehension. However, after diving into it, students started to realize how much fun and engaging Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math could be. They even started to bring in ideas from home that they had researched!
Today's students are the innovators and leaders of tomorrow, and my goal is to provide them with the best hands-on experience possible.
By focusing on the basics of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, I am hoping to fan the flames of curiosity so that students will dive further into these subjects at home and hopefully use it as a starting point for a hobby or career!
My Project
Having the FTC Robotics Starter Kit will help our robotics team build a robot to compete against other schools in this year's robot challenge. Our team is in our second year and have not had the opportunity just yet to build up the supplies needed to build competition robots from year to year.
Students who are part of our team learn the basics of robotics through coding, engineering, 3D Design, and hands-on building and problem-solving.
Each September a new challenge is revealed and teams work to build robots to compete in that year's unique game.
In addition to building robots, our students also help to inspire younger students by appearing at a handful of community events (including computer science week) and sharing their creation with young kids. Our students love to talk to their younger peers and help spark their interest in STEAM projects/subjects.
We are a young team; but a talented, dedicated, and motivated team. Our team is comprised of solely middle school students (7th and 8th graders), and we compete against teams who are made up of almost exclusively high school students. During competitions we compete against between 18-24 teams from around Northern New Jersey; and in our three competitions last year, placed 4th, 3rd, and 1st!
