This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is opening a brand-new Transitional Kindergarten (TK) classroom this upcoming school year, and I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our youngest learners! To give them the best possible start, I’m seeking support to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate space where they can thrive.

I’m hoping to provide my students with a sensory table, which will offer hands-on opportunities to explore, collaborate, and develop essential social-emotional skills through play.

These early experiences help children build self-awareness, empathy, and the ability to work with others, skills that form the foundation for lifelong learning.

I also want to provide my students with a CD/Cassett/AM-FM listening center to ignite a love of reading by offering students the ability to listen to books, giving them access to rich language, vocabulary, and stories that will spark their imagination, even if they’re not yet reading on their own.
