Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a Title I school where many of my students come from low-income households. While they arrive at school eager to learn, most do not have the means to bring basic school supplies—let alone the extra, special tools that help make learning more accessible, engaging, and fun.

This wishlist includes a variety of materials that will directly support both academic learning and my students’ emotional well-being.

One of the most expensive items, a sturdy wagon, will help me carry donations, classroom supplies, and student papers and projects to and from school—saving me time and energy so I can focus more on meeting my students’ needs.

Another important item on the list is a set of fidget toys, which will be used not just for focus, but as part of our social-emotional learning toolkit. These tools help my students regulate their emotions, stay engaged during lessons, and make better behavior choices. They provide a calming outlet that supports a safe, positive classroom environment for all learners.

Your generosity—big or small—will make a huge difference. Every item you help provide will directly impact my students and contribute to a classroom filled with support, excitement, and opportunity.
