My Project
The students I service are children in both regular education classrooms and those who receive special education services. These students vary in grade levels ranging from PK-5th grade. Each student has their own unique needs including a variety of medical diagnoses and learning differences. They thrive when their sensory needs are met, and they learn best through multisensory instruction.
Sensory rooms are specifically designed to provide stimulation to the 5 senses.
In the sensory room, the students will have a space where they can regulate their bodies.
Students will be able to use weighted blankets and weights, and lap pets to help calm the nervous system by providing them with deep pressure input. Bean bag chairs will be used for students to have a comfortable space where they can use a variety of sensory tools including sand mazes, liquid sensory tools, monkey noodles, stress balls, etc. All of the items will help a magnitude of students learn to regulate their bodies!
