it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom.
I just started my 8th year as a kindergarten teacher at my school.
I teach approximately 20 kindergarten students in a general education classroom at a low-income school in New York City. They are a great group of kids who are extremely inquisitive and want to learn more.
My Project
Art is so important in a child's development. This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning. Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school. I have requested construction paper and various art supplies, like paints and sensory dough. Art is such an important part of a child's development, but unfortunately we don't have an art program. I want to make sure my students have a variety of art supplies to explore with on a daily basis.
