This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom.
I am finishing up my 6th year as a kindergarten teacher at my school in a general education classroom at a low-income school in New York City.
They are a great group of kids who are extremely inquisitive and want to learn more. We spend most of our day on our rug either playing games, reading, or learning
My Project
I love to incorporate art into our everyday learning. I love to have my students create their own covers in writing and create projects that go along with our various academic units.
Making learning fun, helps my students learn to love school and makes it more hands on and enjoyable.
We do lots of art projects, which means we go through lots of construction paper, lots and lots of construction paper.
This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning.
Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school.
