This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students attend a Title I school and are from diverse ethnic/cultural backgrounds, namely Bangladeshi, Chinese, Hispanic, and French. 95% of them are Latino and African American. In my classroom, there are students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities.
My students are an adorable, active bunch that have to be engaged every moment of the school day.
As a result, teaching materials and classroom resources get expended rather quickly.
My Project
Fostering kids’ creativity helps them to develop mentally, emotionally, and socially. These materials will help to continue bringing out the creativity in my students. During centers and independent work times, students will have the opportunity to paint, draw, doodle, make collages and much more!
When students are given the opportunity to hone their skills and feel good at what they are creating, it helps to boost their self confidence.
They then realize that it's OK to make mistakes and when they do, they are able to invent new ways of thinking which extends beyond the basic subjects and the classroom.
The arts, crafts, and learning materials I'm requesting will really help to get their creative juices flowing whether they're at home or school.
