My Students
My students are a very diverse group ranging from "Gifted and Talented" to children who struggle to form cohesive sentences. We strive for excellence by setting high standards for reading and writing. In order to achieve success, we need to be able to print handouts as well as their own writing assignments.
As graduating seniors, of our elementary school, my 5th graders are trying to stand out as mentors and role models to their younger counterparts.
In order to do this, we need the proper materials and tools to help display their work.
My Project
Students learn through experience. Taking pride and ownership of their creativity and accomplishments. Although we have laptops, and a classroom printer, having so many papers to print often depletes our supply of ink, toner, and imaging kits.
In my English Language Arts class, students are encouraged to expand their horizons as writers.
They take risks and share their work using technology resources. If this project is funded, students will be able to print and display their work using our existing classroom printer, for all to see.
In addition, to their own writing, having a working printer will allow me to print reference materials and resources to provide extended support.
