This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the best! I wouldn't ask for anything different. They are amazing! My students are energetic, loving, kind, and active! When I enter the classroom, my students are ready and eager to learn. I work in a low-income community in the South Bronx. They may not have much, but when they enter my classroom, I like make sure they have everything. My students are respectful and helpful to anyone who walks through the door. They love to sing, dance, experiment and learn in various ways!
And at the end of the day, my kids are my world.
My Project
Technology is a necessity in my classroom. It allows me to have students research information necessary to write reports or practice their literacy and math skills on IReady. Right now I have six Chromebooks in my classroom. Two of the Chromebooks were funded by a donor from DonorsChoose. Four of these Chromebooks, I purchased myself. Being that there are only six Chromebooks to 30 students, everyone does not have access to a Chromebooks at the same time. Receiving more Chromebooks in the classroom will allow more students access to the technology they need to be successful in today’s technology driven society.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
