My students need me to teach to their needs with a guided math approach and materials such as these carts, charts, and timers will allow us to be up and running with that approach from the start!
My students are incredibly special little friends! They are very diverse in terms of their academic levels, ethnicity, life experiences, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Despite how different they are from each other in so many ways, we share the same big goal; to be successful 3rd grade learners.
I want to give this amazing group of kids every opportunity they have to grow this year, intellectually, socially, and emotionally.

My Project
Teaching with a guided math approach is beneficial because it will allow me to spend more time focusing on the needs of every level of student rather than just teaching to the at-level students.
Setting up our math block with this approach and these materials will allow me to better teach to their levels and needs.
The 10 drawer cart will hold station materials and early finisher work. The drawers will be labeled so that my students know exactly where to get the materials they need.
The pocket chart will hold the rotations so that every student will know where they should be at a glance and I will as well.
The whiteboards will allow my students working with me during Teacher Time to show me their work as we go. The ability to reuse these many, many times will save a lot of paper!
The wireless doorbell will allow me to signal when it is time to rotate, clean up, or stop and listen. Being able to change the tone time to time will be beneficial so that my students do not grow used to a particular noise and just work through it.
The 3 drawer storage organizer will allow me to sort and organize any manipulatives we will use during Teacher Time or during Hands On Math. My students will be able to independently get what they need as they need it without interrupting any other groups.
I am so excited to move to a guided math approach for the upcoming school year. Research has proven it to be a highly effective strategy to reach all levels of learners and to differentiate instruction to accommodate all students. Thank you for your help!
