Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Decoding and comprehension skills are crucial in the elementary classroom as they form the foundation for reading fluency, understanding, and overall academic success. Strong decoding skills enable students to accurately and efficiently read words, while comprehension skills allow them to understand the meaning of what they read and connect it to their prior knowledge. I want to further build on these skills with my students using fun, engaging games and activities. That is why I am requesting Nonfiction Comprehension Cards and Match and Sort Language Activities for my students.
These high-interest, engaging activities help students develops skills in phonics, vocabulary, reading comprehension and grammar & usage.
The nonfiction comprehension activities will help develop informational reading skills as they read fascinating passages, interpret charts and more! Having these resources in my classroom will help the children become stronger readers.
