My Students

My students are great individuals from a poor inner-city neighborhood! Most students are mostly African-American, Latino, and small population of refuge families. Some students have learning disabilities, and a few have emotional and/or medical issues. For most of our students, school is their happy place where they can feel safe.

It is my goal to create a safe, healthy nurturing environment.

I want every child to receive the best possible healthcare they can when they come to my office. Keeping our children healthy allows them to learn more.

My Project

I, Mrs. Simpson, am currently the School Nurse at GGM. My Health suite has run out of these previously donated supplies and we are in desperate need. Having clean, dry warm clothes while at school will allow students to be comfortable and be free from embarrassment while at school. I am asking for sweat pants in varied sizes, underwear, and warm socks. We have a high incidence of students coming to school with no socks, pants splitting, and bathroom accidents. Thank you for your consideration of these needed supplies.

My Project

I am Nurse Lisa of GGM School. My health room suite provides socks for students who may come to school without them. I provide a safe environment free from embarrassment if a child has a bathroom accident where they can quickly get changed and return to class as if nothing happened. If a child is sick and soils their clothes for various reasons they can find a safe nurturing environment in the health room suite. This can only be provided through the generosity of the donors of my health room. Parents do not always respond in a timely manner.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will spend more time in class and less time waiting for parents to come or being upset or cold in the classroom distracted.
