Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a Title I school, my students face many challenges in and out of the classroom. The majority of my students receive free lunch. A large portion are also English language learners. Despite the many obstacles these students face, they are always ready and willing to learn. They work very hard and are eager to succeed in all areas. I am so proud of the work ethic and perseverance that these students show day in and day out.
My Project
My students requested Gaiam Kids Balance Ball Chairs to help them get their wiggles out. We have been studying how a healthy body can lead to better focus. These balance ball chairs will give them an opportunity to move and increase their core strength while allowing them to work in the classroom.
It is very hard for students to have to sit still all day; this is a way for them to have movement without being distracting to their classmates.
I love the elements of both fitness and focus that these balance chairs will bring to our second grade classroom.
