Help! I have some wonderful resources for science and social studies but our old television has died and was difficult for all the students to see.
I teach first grade in a high-need, low socioeconomic, rural, WV elementary school.
Funds for materials are hard to come by and the little we get each year for supplies doesn't go very far. When our television died earlier this year, we found that there was no funding to replace it.
My Project
This television will allow my students to easily view educational DVDs and videos to help students understand topics we are discussing. For example, I have a video to help demonstrate different types of camouflage that animals use. I would also like to view student created webcasts and videos on this as well.
There is not any money in the budget to replace our old television.
Without this donation we will be unable to use the resources as we need to. We will also be able to share the television with other classrooms in the building using a television cart that our old television was on.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
