My Students

My students are gifted and high-achieving learners in 4th grade. I teach them an advanced content curriculum, and I am always looking for more ways to challenge them as learners.

My students are excited about learning new things and have a HUGE variety of interests!

Many of them are passionate readers, while others prefer the more analytical parts of math or science. However, two things they ALL love are hands-on projects and learning with computers! I try to use as much of those as possible to keep every student engaged.

My Project

I am requesting a color printer and a set of additional ink cartridges for that printer. These supplies are not available for teachers in my school to use, so I am currently only able to print grayscale copies.

A color printer in our classroom will allow students to print their original projects and share them with others!

While my students create many projects on computers, they are not always able to share their amazing graphics, comics, flyers, and other creations with their families. This is because some families do not have devices at home to view what a child has created. A color printer will help bridge that gap and allow students to show off things they create at school.

This printer will also allow me to create tasks for students that require color images - for example, analyzing historical photographs or color-coded maps. Hands-on tasks like these will engage students in authentic tasks rather than relying on black-and-white printed worksheets.
