I have the opportunity to teach two wonderful ELA classes full of 8 and 9 year olds! It's a very diverse class that is full of energy and constantly seeking engaging books as they are developing a love for reading.
As their teacher, it is important for me to ensure that they have books they enjoy, so they can deepen their love for reading!
As a 3rd grade, we are completing a 40 book challenge this year! It is important that I have a variety of books in my classroom library, so that they are reading different genres of text that are at their lexile levels.
My Project
The 3rd graders at my school have been given a challenge:
CAN YOU READ 40 BOOKS AT YOUR LEXILE LEVEL THIS SCHOOL YEAR?
In order to help my students achieve this goal, I need to make sure that I am providing them with a variety of books in my classroom library. Yet, it can be expensive! That's where we need your help.
We are only 2 months into the school year, and I can already see so many getting exciting about new books and truly developing a love for reading. As a reading teacher, that's the greatest thing I could ever want!
I want that love to grow throughout the year, and I also want them to accomplish their goal of reading 40 books at their level.
Therefore, the class and I have worked together to compile a list of books/authors that they'd LOVE to read!
