This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn. They have unique needs that are incredibly well met with technology. They can pick up their parents phone, upload a program and engage. Why not transfer such skill to what really matters? Listening and following along with books on software; it's how they learn best.

My students range from first to third grade.

I am honored to serve their exceptional needs. They are high energy, curious, motivated, charismatic, and above all, they are very special to me. Our school has three special day classes and I can assure you that all our students would be greatly benefited to fully integrate technology in the classroom. My students need more opportunities to access they preferred learning style.

My Project

Imagine that you are the world's best painter but you have mittens on your hands. These mittens do not allow you to move your fingers in the manner that you wish. But, if you found an exciting and unique way to remove these mittens, which represent barriers, you would show the world that you have a special talent. You would be anxious to share your talent with the world. Well, this is how some of my students feel when they are reading a book but need constant help from a peer or an adult. It's much easier to see the colorful illustrations come to life as you listen to the books on audio using an Apple tablet. Using this tablet, my students will be positively impacted by learning to read in a fun way and on their own pace.
