Help me give my students a strong understanding of why letters get together and make the many different sounds that they do. Secret Stories explains the "secret" reasons why our letters make so many different sounds.
Kindergarten is an amazing year. My students are overly excited about everything and love to learn. They can’t wait to come to school and get started. Most of them come from essential working families and qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
Secret stories uses a multisensory approach to help teach children phonics. Coupled with my districts reading and phonics program, secret stories will help unlock the mysteries of why letters and letter combinations make certain sounds.
Our 26 letters actually make 44 different sounds.
This kit, along with some center activities and games from Teacher Pay Teachers, will allow me to teach my kindergarteners the secrets they will need to learn all 44 sounds. Our traditional lessons teach only the basic 30 sounds, including both long and short vowels. Secret Stories introduces all the sounds and allows each student the opportunity to tap into this knowledge when they are ready,
