Help me give my students the ability to step into the roles they’re learning about, giving them a tangible connection to the concepts they’re exploring through costumes.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every day, I am inspired by the curiosity, enthusiasm, and resilience of my elementary students. They have such an eagerness to learn, explore, and ask questions about the world around them. Their excitement for new ideas and hands-on projects is infectious, and it's truly a privilege to help nurture their growth.
We are currently diving into a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) careers unit, where students are exploring the diverse world of careers that combine creativity and innovation.
The power of this unit is in helping them see how science and math can be used to solve real-world problems, and how art and technology play a role in shaping our future.
One of the most impactful ways we can bring this learning to life is through costumes that represent different professions in STEAM. Whether it’s a costume of an engineer, scientist, artist, or tech innovator, these costumes will allow my students to step into the roles they’re learning about, giving them a tangible connection to the concepts they’re exploring. By dressing up and participating in role-play activities, they’ll not only have fun but also gain a deeper understanding of what each career entails, what skills are necessary, and how they can envision themselves in these roles one day.
Your generous donation towards these resources will make a world of difference in my students' learning experience. It will give them the opportunity to engage more deeply, think creatively, and perhaps even spark a passion for a career they hadn't considered before.
