My students need mirrors for dance class so they can see their posture, check positioning and gain overall style and body awareness.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Dance at our small public charter school is a growing program. This is my second year of sharing this personal and joyous art form with my students.
They are growing and learning as artists in the same small, tight knit, school community that inspires me daily.
They are developing body-awareness, learning how to move as individuals and as part of a group and are challenging their minds to learn and mimic choregraphy. They inspire me with their willingness to try new things and constantly amaze me with their positive attitudes and ability to work through the discomfort and self-conciousness that comes with the art of dance. I can already see them opening up and learning to express their feelings and confidence through movement.
My Project
Have you ever seen a dance studio with no mirrors? LCS Dance students use the Cafeteria as a dance room and unfortunately there are no mirrors on the walls! Students are working hard to understand their bodies and move with each other through dance. Mirrors will greatly enhance their understanding of space, posture and dance style.
Please consider donating for mirrors to help my students gain a complete understanding of how their bodies move.
We need at least 5 mirrors for our space but this post is only requesting one. I hope that through your generous donations, I can continue to help my dancers grow in their understanding of movement, space, self reflection and style.
