My Students

Many of the students at my school are from low-income families living in one of the largest cities in New Jersey. My students love music, have big dreams and work very hard to achieve them. In our program, we learn not only about how to preform well on our instruments but how the skills we are learning will help us be more successful in every aspect of our lives.

Our program includes around one hundred amazing students in grades 6-8 .

We perform in many events throughout the year, both at the school and in the community, in order to share all the students' hard work. In order to make all this possible, the parents and students at the school are continuously fundraising to make these opportunities possible for the well deserving, hardworking students.

My Project

With 80% of the students playing on school owned instruments the cost of these much needed items is beyond the means of their families and puts a bigger burden on the fundraising we currently do.

These tuners will empower the students with the information they need to make musical decisions and become more critical thinkers.

These clip-on tuners give the students the individual feedback they need they in order to reach their fullest potential. Without this equipment there is no way for the individual student to know what corrections they need to make. While my students work very hard to be the best they can be, this becomes harder without the needed tools to do so.
