My 25 students need desks to use in the classroom. The desks in my classroom are rusted and damaged. My students would profit from having a nice desks to work on that didn't snag their clothes when they sit down to work.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a class of 25 beautiful first grade students. This is a high need community school. Many of my students have special needs, but they are eager to learn and they come to school everyday.
I would like new desks for my students. The desks in my classroom are damaged and rusty. When students sit down to work they snag their clothes on the rusty legs and splintered tops. It is so disappointing to have this happen. These students are limited on the amount of outfits that they have to wear to school. When a student damages their clothing on the old desks, it just breaks my heart.
If my students had new desks to work on, they wouldn't have to worry about snagging their new outfit. They could focus on the task at hand and learn more about each subject that is introduced. They would be able to keep their supplies and books in a neat compartment and there would be no danger of their new supplies getting soiled from our fifty year old desks.
You would be giving this classroom of first grade students the best advantage for a good beginning. With new desks in the classroom, I would be able to teach each lesson with gusto. I would have everyone's undivided attention and we would zoom through our first grade year learning more knowledge than ever.
