My students need to be challenged. Breakout EDU kits are designed for students to use critical thinking skills as they are learning to solve the code to break out of the box.
This year I am teaching science and social studies to up to 75 students each day, many of whom want to be scientists or engineers when they grow up. We are a STEM school and spend much of our time on PBLs (Problem Based Learning). This means we participate in hands-on activities on a regular basis. I want to make an active, engaging environment, but we need supplies.
These third graders are from a variety of backgrounds, inquisitive, and intelligent.
They throw all of their energy into our activities, prompting me to continuously look for the next "best thing" out there to spark even more interest.
My Project
Students will be working cooperatively with critical thinking skills to solve clues from our Problem Based Learning activities to unlock a variety of locks to "break out" of a box (i.e. solve the problem).
The Breakout EDU kit includes everything we need to complete hundreds of published games involving multiple subject areas.
Students will remember lessons like this the most. Students will feel like they really are participating in a "Breakout" scenario while solving real-life problems and simultaneously demonstrating mastery of content. I have been working to purchase locks as I can, however, it is taking too long and too much money to collect everything I need. Can you help?
