My Students

My kindergarten class is an amazing group of diverse learners. My goal as their teacher is to differentiate instruction, often with additional resources, to meet their needs. I also hope to provide rich and diverse experiences outside of the classroom, to help these kids make real life connections to what we learn in class.

This project will be for my class as well as the 3 other kindergarten classes at our school.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to bring additional resources and experiences to all our students. DonorsChoose.org allows all of our kindergarteners the opportunity to grow and learn beyond what we as teachers can give them!

My Project

Each year, all four of the kindergarten classes from our San Francisco elementary school take a field trip to Elkus Ranch in Half Moon Bay, California. It is a day where our city kids get to see what life is like on a ranch, a place many of them have never been. They learn about gardening, taking care of farm animals, working on a ranch, sustainability, and so much more.

This trip provides real-life experiences to connect to what we teach in the classroom.

It creates memories and learning moments that are not accessible to many of our kids living in San Francisco. This is by far our favorite field trip of the year, and well worth the high transportation costs and entrance fees. We appreciate your support in helping our kids get to have this memorable and educational experience.
