My Students
Through meaningful lessons and innovative technology, I teach my students the joys of learning. Learning in my classroom is always dynamic, thrilling, and fun because I seek to remove learning roadblocks. My students cannot afford basic school supplies and I intend to help them with this need.
My students live in the inner city.
They attend a school that services families who do not have much. Many live in single parent homes. Most get their main meals from school. All of them want to connect to something more than the harsh reality of their day to day lives.
Their story is one of pain, struggle, and resilience. Scarred by the wounds of life, my students come to my classroom with obstacles that even some adults may find hard to overcome. Strengthened and encouraged through my love and support for them, my students work hard to achieve and deserve the best that can be offered to them.
They are not looking for pity, but for love and support. They are not downtrodden by life's rough courses but are motivated to be as I have taught them to be...the best.
My Project
It is really hard to teach in any classroom without the necessary basic school supplies. The lined writing paper, pencils, crayons, and erasers will be used to help my students to master grade level standards and lessons.
My students will happily use the learning tools to read, write, count, and explore. Students will be able to write powerful and creative stories. Dynamic and interesting pictures will be drawn, and wonderful lessons will be learned as students work with and use the materials. Most importantly, knowledge will be gained through the use of the supplies requested.
The invaluable tools will help to remove a hindering roadblock along our educational journey. Each day students will come into the classroom with a sense of confidence due to the fact that the burden of needing school supplies has been erased. Having the supplies will bring joy into my learning environment and allow incredible learning opportunities to take place.
