This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine a room full of students working in their different reading skills. Some are building words, sharing a book, or working with the teacher. Now imagine students being able to listen to reading or create their own digital stories on the mini iPad!
I have two groups of first grade students from different countries and backgrounds.
These students receive Reading, Language Arts, and Writing instruction from me. My teaching partner instructs the students in Math, Science, and Spanish. These little minds are ready to learn each and every day. They are eager to improve their skills and I am always looking for new ways to engage the students.
My Project
With this iPad mini, the students will be able to use it daily during our literacy stations (centers). Student will be able to use it as a listening station to read interactive titles such as "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss. In addition, students will be able to practice word work, create class books, and so much more. Our new reading series also has online resources for students to use on the iPad.
My first grade students already love to practice their reading and writing skills.
However, this will enhance their experiences every day! Station time is already a favorite but the iPad mini will create an interactive, highly engaging way to advance their literacy skills to new heights!
