This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are some of the most incredible hardworking students I have ever met. All of them have obstacles they must face in and out of school and their perseverance is something to be sought after. They consistently remind me that life is not always easy and sometimes you are dealt a tough hand, but just put your head up and don't stop. This is my sixth year at this school and I am so excited to continue to work with them as they grow even more. Our school is very much a family and I couldn't see myself anywhere else. We have a range of levels, circumstances, and emotions, but we together make a strong and incredible family!
My Project
I have such an incredible group of students, who have such an amazing energy and love for school. I really enjoy walking in to class everyday seeing their smiles and excitement for the day. I have several students who feel the constructs of classic classroom seating and have difficulty keeping their focus during class instruction.
My hope is these flexible seating chairs will give the students enough sensory stimulation, where they can be moving slightly enough in a way that is not too distracting to others, and help them to better engage their focus on the lesson and/or tasks at hand.
Any support would be greatly appreciated! I really think these stools will help to give all my students their opportunity at success.
