This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. All of my students have been identified with special needs such as autism, developmentally delayed, intellectual disabilities, language impairment, and deaf and hard of hearing. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking for the best classroom tools to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My early childhood special education students are very creative and full of energy.
They like to observe, play, and explore new materials. A typical day in our class is based on learning through play. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth. I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
These materials will help me maintain a clean and safe environment for my students. We are planning on using these materials before, during, and after school. Pre-school students spent a lot of time working on their fine motor skills in which they share a lot of the same manipulatives. It is essential that we keep the classroom, as well as the objects they use throughout the day, clean. This is the reason I am asking for your assistance. We are not sure when we will be going back, but it seems the school district is moving towards having everyone back in school soon.
