My Students
These little froggies need space to store their work! They need space to store their alphabet cards, their handwriting workbooks, and their favorite book. We have round tables that students work at because it helps develop a classroom community and promotes teamwork, but we need storage too!
These little kindergarten "froggies" are hard working, energetic, capable students who come from very diverse and often lower income families.
Most students have not been to preschool, thus we play "catch-up" with them from day one. These are students that need lots of structure in their lives (and many do not receive this at home). Book pockets on their chairs will help a lot! It's amazing how much the little things really help in Kindergarten world.
My Project
All we are asking is for a sturdy pocket for each child's chair. This pocket will have their name on it and students will be able to store their handwriting books, their writer's workshop folders, their alphabet cards, and many other items that they need close by their workstations. We are in a very old building that does not have a lot of opportunity for storage and the desks are not desks, but tables.
Your donation will help jump start the first day of school ever for many students!
It will also give structure to their days and provide peace of mind for the students and the teacher! Students can not learn when structure and organization are not in place first. Please give students the opportunity to learn to their best ability by providing us with one of the most basic classroom needs: storage! The froggies will greatly appreciate it.
