My students need entrance fees to visit the Chesapeake Children's Museum.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Instead of hearing tales about the Chesapeake Bay, my students could actually get an up close, hands on opportunity to interact with the Chesapeake Bay. The Chesapeake Children's Museum offers this opportunity.
Unfortunately, most of my students will not get this opportunity because of limited finances. I teach at a title 1, high poverty school and trips are rare because of high costs. Most of my students are from Latin America and Africa and English is their second language. Trips are so valuable and would give the students a wonderful learning experience.
I would love for my students to visit the Chesapeake Children's Museum. They would get a hands on experience with the natural wonders and animals of the Chesapeake Bay. They will hop aboard a pretend boat complete with life jackets and a telescope. They will get to view live animals from the pond and interact with real turtles! They will use recyclable materials to create water scenes, and dress up as animals from the Chesapeake Bay. In the construction area, they will wear hard hats and use tools to create water systems, and other useful items for the Chesapeake Bay.
By funding this project, my students will get a real life, hands on experience with the Chesapeake Bay. This will greatly enhance their understanding of the land, ecosystem, and animals of the Chesapeake. Your donation, will give the students an invaluable learning experience!
