Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
If you are reading this, thank you! I am a 6th year teacher, working at a school in the Bronx. The students who make up our classroom family are all from low income households; many of whom are in shelters.
School is not only a safe space for my students but a home!
In supporting my cart, you will be providing students with:
Pencils, which all students need and are often unable to provide for themselves for various reasons.
Fruit snacks, to give my students a little boost. Many of my students only get to eat when with us at school and they LOVE fruit snacks!
Printer & paper, to allow students to do research in real-time and print their own findings out in order to annotate, question, and challenge!
An iPad, provides an opportunity for student voice, student agency, and ownership. This iPad will be for students to take on a “teacher” role to hold their peers accountable in collecting data and supporting with vocabulary, problem-solving, and literacy.
