The QMHS and MELS baseball and softball teams are primed for HUGE seasons in 2025.
We utilize the field space at our school the best way we can, but these hitting materials will help get us over the top!
The baseball team is coming off of back-to-back division titles and return the top pitcher in the city, along with 3 of the top 10 bats.
The softball team was a New York City FINALIST a year ago, and the future is bright for the girls!
This project includes a free-standing, movable batting cage, that both teams can utilize indoors OR outdoors. Being able to have one team hitting in a protected cage, while the other team is on the field will give us an advantage not known before.
These programs both share the use of a pitching machine. Dedicated extension cords that can get our pitching machine wherever we need to on our field will allow us to accommodate other activities taking place on the field space, as well as them to accommodate us, hopefully allowing for more use of the field by more school teams/clubs/organizations.
Hitting aids such as the training baseballs and whiffle balls will let the coaching staff of each team vary the hitting drills executed by each program. One additional hitting net will allow multiple drills to happen simultaneously.
Lastly, the speed radar gun will allow student-athletes to track exit velocities of their at-bats, as well as pitchers having the ability to chart their pitch speeds.
