Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project is a special one for my school! My Title I school community currently has a significant number of students in temporary housing, double down households, and single family and multigenerational households. More than 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American. More than three‑quarters of students come from low‑income households. These hardworking families are incredibly resilient people that are faced with profound financial hardships; therefore, this project is even more impactful.
At my school, one of the goals is to expand our Family Store to reach more students and families.
This project will ensure that the students and their families receive essential personal hygiene products. The hardworking families will have a direct access point to essential hygiene products such as deodorant, baby wipes, toothbrushes, laundry detergent and feminine pads.
Access to personal hygiene items is a basic human right. This project will maintain the health and wellness of hundreds of families. Please consider donating to this extremely impactful project!
